Motorcycle officers, some with over a decade of experience assisting on-location filming, make up The Memphis Movie Motorcyle Unit. Film-friendly policies and procedures were developed early in the last decade by Memphis Mayor Dr. Willie Herenton, Memphis Police Director Walter Crews, and Memphis & Shelby County Film & Television Commissioner Linn Sitler. If police assistance is required, Commission staff will meet with clients and police representatives to develop a customized and cost-efficient plan.
